Registrations for Recreational Soccer

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD FOR RECREATION SOCCER?

The easiest way is to go online and register. Complete the online form using your smartphone or computer. You need to provide your child’s birth certificate, passport, or Green Card; you will also need to provide a picture.

CAN I REGISTER BY MAIL?

No, we do not accept mail-in registrations.

FRIEND / TEAM REQUEST

If you have a specific request for your child to play with a friend; a coach; or a team you can make it on the 3rd line of the registration form.

DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN MILPITAS?

No, the league is primarily set up for Milpitas residents but we do accept players from surrounding communities.

UNIFORMS

Uniforms are currently $40 for a jersey, shorts, and socks. If you have already purchased a uniform you do not have to purchase a new one each year.

HOW DO I BECOME A COACH?

On your child’s registration form, check the “Coach” box in the Parental Support section on the right. All Adults working with kids as Coaches, Managers, and Assistant coaches will be required to complete background checks and fingerprinting.

MYSL will provide instructions on how to proceed with these requirements. The Background check is done online every year and fingerprinting is done one time.

WHAT’S THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE & LOCATION?

Teams usually practice twice a week in the early evening, usually lasting 1-1 ½ hours. The practice schedule and location will be set up by the team coach after teams are formed.

WHEN WILL THE PRACTICE START?

Your child’s coach will provide you with the practice schedule and location after teams are formed: Fall soccer – mid-August; Spring soccer – mid-March

WHAT ELSE WILL I HAVE TO BUY?

You will need to buy soccer shoes (cleats) and shin guards.

WHAT TIME ARE THE GAMES?

Games take place on Saturday and/or Sunday, usually between 9 AM and 8 PM for Recreation Soccer

WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM SOMEONE?

You will hear from the team coach after registration is complete and teams have been set up and coach assigned, the coach will contact you.

AGE GROUPS

Players must play in the appropriate age group based on their birth year. The parent can request that they play UP one group (older team) but they cannot play in a lower age group.

HOW CAN I BECOME A REFEREE?

If you’re interested in becoming a referee send an email with your contact information to: support@mysleague.com, and someone will contact you.

HOW CAN I CONTACT THE LEAGUE?

To contact the league send an e-mail to [email protected]. E-mails are usually answered within 24 – 48 hours during soccer season

WHAT DOCUMENTS CAN I USE FOR PROOF OF A BIRTH DATE?

– United States Birth Certificate
– United States Passport
– Certified Notification of Birth
– United States Board of Health Record, a Certificate of Naturalization issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service
the United States Alien Registration Card
– California State Driver’s License

Photocopies of any of the above are acceptable. Note that any player can be called upon to prove the legality of age with an original copy of one of the above to the Board should a question arise. Hospital certificates are NOT adequate proof of birth date.
